COLUMBUS, GA. – The No. 15 Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team concluded their season with a 4-2 loss to No. 16 Lander University in the NCAA Southeast Region opening round. The Royals 11 game winning streak was snapped as Queens finished the season 15-5 overall and 11-1 in conference play. The 15-win mark is the fifth time in program history that the Royals have reached 15 or more wins in a season.
The Royals fell behind early as the Bearcats secured doubles victories on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts to take a 1-0 lead.
In singles action, No. 21 ranked
Edoardo Bottino finished out a dominant season with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Bailey Horne at the No. 1 court. Rookie
Laurenz Blickwede would also emerge victorious on the No. 4 court with a convincing 6-2, 6-1 win over Nicolas Chan. Despite the victories, Lander managed to take the third, fifth, and sixth courts to secure the match.
