RESULTS
ALLENDALE, Mich. – Queens University of Charlotte continued with day two of competition at the 2022 NCAA DII Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships today, recording multiple All-American performances by the end of the night.
Queens' decathletes opened the day with their five remaining events, and
Niklas Klei was able to move up a spot from where he stood at the midway point yesterday. He finished the day with a total score of 7,303 points for a new personal record in the event and took third place for All-American First Team honors.
Stefan Jungmichel finished 12
th with a score of 6,826 and
Simon Rey took 13
th with a score of 6,123.
After advancing to the 3,000-meter steeplechase finals with their performances last night,
Jan Lukas Becker and
Stevie Lawrence were impressive on the track in tonight's finals. Lawrence's time was a new personal record as she finished third for All-American First Team honors in 10:14.99. In the men's race, Becker finished ninth with a time of 8:55.39 for All-American Second Team honors.
Carlin McFadden also raced tonight, clocking the 15
th best time in the women's 800-meter run. Additionally,
Melanie Welsing clocked a 16
th-best time of 14.18 seconds in the 100-meter hurdle prelims meaning she will not get a chance to defend her national title from a season ago.
The NCAA DII Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships will wrap tomorrow on the campus of Grand Valley State University. Below is a schedule for when each of the Royals will be contending for their championship titles.
