RESULTS
ANDERSON, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track & field teams traveled to compete in the Electric City Invitational hosted by Anderson University today.
On the track,
Melanie Welsing recorded an NCAA provisional mark in the 100-meter hurdles taking second place in 14.05. She also finished 13
th in the 400-meter hurdles race.
Also highlighting the women's efforts was
Cherise Carreira who grabbed a first-place finish in the 1,500 meter in a time of 4:33.87.
Stina Pettersson followed in third.
Sprinter
Ashlee Lowe earned eighth place in the 100-meter dash while distance runner
Katharina Krosta took third in the 5,000-meter run in 18:00.08.
Jana Millat also ran in the 5,000 taking sixth place.
For the men,
Adam Wright recorded an NCAA provisional time in the 800-meter taking second place in a time of 1:50.66 while
Mark Schittenhelm took first place in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 53.99.
Remi Liberse raced in the 800 taking eighth place while also earning second in the 1,500 in a time of 3:54.51. Tristen Jones took third in the 1,500.
Queens' men also claimed the third, fifth, and sixth place spots in the 110-meter hurdles.
Off the track, Gudmunder Danielsson took first place in the javelin throw with a mark of 54.79 meters.
Christina Palmer took fourth in the shot put with a mark of 12.10 meters and recorded a throw of 40.82 meters in the discus throw.
Esma Pajt competed in the hammer throw recording a mark of 53.11 meters to match her personal best.
Queens will be back in action at the Lenoir-Rhyne Outdoor Open on Apr. 23.
