CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track & field teams completed their weekend of competition at the Charlotte 49er Classic this afternoon.
On the track,
Evie Wild took seventh place in the women's 800-meter run in a time of 2:17.61 while
Hannah Moloney finished 14
th. Additionally,
Franca Henseleit raced to a second-place finish in the 3,000-meter run clocking a time of 10:14.70.
For the men, Sam Roberts took 12
th in the 3,000 in 9:08.65 while sprinter
Dionysius Rolle placed 14
th in the 200 with a time of 22.32 seconds.
Off the track,
Amadeus Waluga earned eighth place in the shot put after recording a toss of 14.14 meters (46-4.75).
Florian Daireaux competed in the pole vault alongside teammate
Stephen Crotty. The pair would finish fourth and seventh, respectively, in the event as Daireaux recorded a mark of 4.25 meters (13-11.25) and Crotty posted a mark of 3.65 meters (11-11.75).
Yesterday,
Melanie Welsing and
Adam Wright highlighted as each recorded NCAA DII provisional marks in their respective events. Welsing took first in the 100-meter hurdles in 13.82 while Wright finished first in the 1,500 in 3:47.70.
Lucy Walliker also recorded the top high jump in the nation while competing in the heptathlon where she took first place.
Queens will be back in action next weekend with members of the teams competing at the Raleigh Relays and the Winthrop Invite.
