CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team (2-1) suffered their first loss of the spring season falling to the reigning Big South Conference Champions from Presbyterian College (5-6) by a final score of 7-0 at the Howard Levine Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
 
The Blue Hose grabbed the early 1-0 advantage after sweeping the doubles action despite a remarkable effort from Win Steveker and Jan Malmon in No. 2 Doubles. The tandem fell 7-6 following a tough duel with the Blue Hose. The Royals would put up great performances in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles as well, but the reigning D1 conference champions managed to take both matches 6-4 and 6-4 respectively.
 
Queens responded with a strong start in singles play by winning the first set in three matches. Edoardo Bottino outshined Benson in No. 1 singles 7-5, Edoardo Cecere dropped Milanovic 6-4 in No. 2 singles, and Jan Malmon rounded out the strong start to singles action with a 7-6 victory in No. 6 singles. The visiting Blue Hose would regain their composure on all of the courts and storm past the Royals with a clinching 6-3, 6-3 victory in No. 4 singles.
