Royals Set to Host Limestone University

CHARLOTTE, N.C - The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team (6-15, 5-15 SAC) will be back in Charlotte to host the Limestone University Saints inside Curry Arena (13-9, 10-9 SAC) on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m. It will be the second game in the regular-season series with the Saints.

 LAST TIME OUT
- Queens fell to Carson-Newman, 105-54 at home in a make-up game on Monday afternoon inside Curry Arena.
 
-  Queens was led by Kalaya Hall who finished with 16 points. Amari Davis followed with 13 points and Malea Garrison added nine points and six rebounds. Jori Wilks led under the glass with nine rebounds.
 
ABOUT THE ROYALS
-Queens is currently led by Hall who is averaging 21 points per game this season to rank fourth in the conference in the category. Additionally, Kristy Hamze is averaging 12.1points per game. Taylor Stevens ranks first in the league with 4.6 assists per game.

-The Royals opened their season with a win over Emory & Henry. It is the first time that Queens has kicked off their season in the win column since 2015. Two of their opponents since then have been nationally ranked.
 
-Head Coach Jen Brown is in her second season leading the Royals. Queens enters the year in rebuilding mode welcoming six newcomers to a squad of nine returners.

ABOUT THE SAINTS
-The Saints suffered an 83-78 loss to Coker University inside DeLoach Center in their last game. Junior Quin Byrd led all scorers with 23 points, while Reagan Kargo finished with 18 points and five rebounds. Senior Josie Long scored 12 points off the bench and Alaan West pulled down nine boards to go with five points.
 
-The Saints have three players scoring in double-figures with Byrd leading the way with 17.6 points per game (3.5 rebounds per game). Kargo is adding 14 points per game (4.0 rebounds per game) while McCray is chipping in 13.1 points per game.

SERIES HISTORY
- Queens leads the series 22-21 which dates back to Feb. 9, 1991.
 
- In their last meeting, the Royals suffered a 98-79 at Limestone. Hall had an impressive scoring night for the Royals, recording 43 points to set a new program single-game record again. She was 11-of-25 from the floor on the night connecting on 5-of-9 from the three and 16-of-18 from the charity stripe. Her 43 points broke her previous record of 41 points that she set on Jan. 12, 2022.
