RESULTS
ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track & field team, closing in on their indoor championship season, traveled to Allendale, Mich., to compete in the GVSU Big Meet Friday. In total, the Royals recorded 12 NCAA DII provisional marks at the meet.
For the women,
Carlin McFadden broke her school record in the 800-meter run clocking a time of 2:11.77. She finished ninth with a DII provisional time while
Stina Petterssonn also recorded a provisional time, finishing the race in 12
th place with a time of 2:13.51.
Stevie Lawrence-Wrist raced in the 3,000-meter run, taking seventh place in a DII provisional time of 9:44.18.
Fatima Alanis won her heat in the 5,000-meter run in a time of 16:29.72 which is the second fastest time in DII currently.
Cherise Carreira also raced in heat two of the 5,000 taking eighth in 17:02.83. Her time was a provisional time as well.
Niklas Klei highlighted the men's day clocking a time of 47.49-seconds in the 400-meter dash. His time was a new school record, a DII provisional, and it came just a few days after the athlete competed in the heptathlon at the JDL February Multi and Track Meet.
Adam Wright recorded a provisional time after taking 24
th in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.52 while
Mitchel Cox finished 13
th in the mile with a time of 4:09.08 for a provisional mark.
Remi Liberse raced in the men's 3,000-meter run taking 18th in 8:38.32 which is a new person record for the runner.
In the men's 5,000-meter run, Queens' trio had a great race once again.
Jan Lukas Becker led the pack finishing fourth in 14:05.71 while
Mathurin Boutte took sixth in 14:14.37.
Eric Keogh followed in 11
th place with a time of 14:22.33. All three times were DII provisionals.
Off the track,
Martin Knauer competed in the shot put recording a DII provisional mark with a seventh-best 17.53-meters (57-6.25)
Queens will return to action at the GVSU Big Meet Saturday tomorrow in Allendale, Mich.
