RESULTS
COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track & field teams completed competition at the South Carolina Invite in Columbia, S.C., this evening recording a pair of NCAA DII Provisional marks and new school records.
Simon Rey of the men's team shined today breaking his own school record set just last week in the pole vault. Rey recorded a mark of 4.85-meters (15-11) for first place in the event. He currently sits 18
th nationally.
Martin Knauer sits sixth nationally in the shot put after taking second place in the men's shot put invite with a DII provisional mark of 17.98-meters (59-0).
On the track, Queens totaled five top-12 finishes in the men's and women's 800-meter runs. In the women's race,
Stina Pettersson finished seventh in 2:15.27 while
Carlin McFadden took was 11
th with a time of 2:17.59. Pettersson's time was a new school record, and McFadden sits fourth on Queen's program list.
Adam Wright led the men finishing fifth in 1:53.46 while
Mitchel Cox was ninth in 1:53.90.
Remi Liberse raced to a 12
th-place finish in1:55.54.
In the 5,000-meter women's invite,
Natalie Bash took second place with a time of 18:13.37 while
Lance Sotelo took seventh place in the men's invite with a time of 15:03.42.
Additionally,
Lucy Walliker competed in the women's high jump invite taking fourth place with a jump of 1.63-meters (5-4.25).
Queens will be back in action next week competing at the Camel City Invite scheduled for Feb. 4-5.
