No. 16 Men’s Tennis Defeats Limestone for Fifth Straight Win

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The 16th-ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's team won its fifth straight match with a 7-0 victory over Limestone University on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The Royals won the doubles point by collecting a 6-2 win at No. 2 by Edoardo Bottino/Edoardo Cecere and a 6-4 victory at No. 1 from the duo of Paolo Bompieri/Kasper Rolfsen to gain the early match lead.
 
Cecere, the reigning SAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week, opened singles play with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 3 to remain perfect in League play. A 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 5 by Berk Enc put the Royals on the verge of victory before Bompieri clinched the team win with a 7-6, 6-3 triumph in the second flight.
 
Straight set wins at Nos. 1 and 4 by Bottino and Yoan Roussinov, respectively, provide the Royals with additional points in the match.
 
Queens remains on the road for the next match, a Top 25 contest against No. 22 University of North Georgia on Saturday, March 27 in Dahlonega, Ga. at Noon.
