HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The 13
TH-ranked Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team picked up its second South Atlantic Conference win of the week with a 6-1 victory over Coker University on Saturday afternoon.
Queens won all three doubles matchups to earn the first point of the day, including identical 6-2 wins at Nos. 1 and 3 by the duos of
Edoardo Bottino/
Edoardo Cecere and
Paolo Bompierie/
Kasper Rolfsen.
In singles play, Bottino went the distance before tallying a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 2. Cecere (6-0, 6-1),
Yoan Roussinov (7-6, 6-2),
Jan Malmon (6-3, 6-0), and Rolfsen (6-3, 6-2) were all individual winners on the day for Queens.
"Our team competed hard today," said Head Tennis Coach
Billy Boykin. "We were led by the energy - and efforts - of our seniors."
Conference play continues next Saturday for the Royals when the team hosts Mars Hill University for a 1 p.m. match at the Howard Levine Tennis Center.
