Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team (1-14, 1-13 SAC) continued South Atlantic Conference play tonight against Limestone University (5-7,5-6 SAC), falling 93-64 to the Saints in Gaffney, S.C.
Limestone scored the game's first basket, but Leedle hit a three-pointer to give the Royals a one-point lead 3-2 early on. Limestone responded with a three-pointer of their own to regain the lead and held an 11-point advantage after the first quarter. Queens cut the deficit to five points in the second quarter but trailed 47-45 at intermission.
The second half opened with consecutive three-pointers from Limestone as sophomore
Kalaya Hall hit a three of her own to cut the deficit to 41-31 early in the third quarter. Limestone controlled the final quarter of play from beginning to end to seal the home victory.
Senior
Caitlyn Moore led the Royals with a season-high 18 points, while sophomore
Kelsey Leedle scored a season-high of her own with 15 points, making 5-of-7 shots from 3-point range in the first half of play. Freshman
Amari Davis and Hall finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively, to round out the double-digit scorers for Queens.
Queens continues its current three-game road trip on Saturday when the team heads to Harrogate, Tennesse for a 2 p.m. tip-off against Lincoln Memorial University.
