Royals Wrap Busy Opening Weekend at Winston-Salem Kick-Off Classic

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Members of the Queens University of Charlotte men's track and field team wrapped a busy weekend of competition for the track and field programs today at the Winston-Salem Kick-Off Classic held at JDL Fast Track.
 
Thrower Amadeaus Waluga took eighth place in the shot put with a mark of 14.09 meters while also setting a new personal record in the weight throw with a toss of 12.93 meters for 14th place. Gudmundur Danielsson also had a personal best, recording a throw of 11.94 meters in the weight throw.
 
On the track, Mark Schittenhelm placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.88 seconds. He also set a new personal record in the 60-meter hurdles clocking in at 8.96 seconds. 
 
Jirí Brychta competed in the mile finishing 10th with a time of 4:45.66. His time was also a personal r
 
The Royals will break for exams and the holiday season before returning to competition at the Gamecock Opener on Jan. 15.
