CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The third-seeded Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team (15-4-1) will face the sixth-seeded North Georgia Nighthawks (10-5-1) Friday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. in the opening round of the 2021 NCAA DII Women's Soccer Championship.

Queens and North Georgia are meeting for the third time in history. The Nighthawks lead the series, 2-0, after defeating the Royals 3-0 in their last matchup in 2015.

Both teams enter Friday's match being held on the campus of Catawba College after suffering losses in their respective conference tournaments. Queens fell to No.10 Catawba College in the South Atlantic Conference Championship game by a score of 1-0 while North Georgia lost in the Peach Belt Conference Semifinals to No. 7 Columbus State, 1-0.

Queens' shutout percentage ranks fourth in the nation at .700 as they have 14 on the season. Additionally, SAC All-Conference First Teamer
Erica Turner has 13 to rank second nationally individually in shutouts.
Mia Manuel enters the game leading the Royals with 12 points on six goals.

The Nighthawks are led by Taylor Malasek, who has 19 points off seven goals and five assists. Abbie Crane has 10 points off five goals. The team's goalkeepers Sierra Fowler and Morgan Ramby have split the majority of the starts this season with Ramby tallying six wins.
This is the third NCAA Championship appearance for the Queens women's soccer program. In 2017, they advanced to the second round for the first time in program history.Â

Tickets for Friday's match will be sold at the gate. Adult tickets are $8 while children's tickets are $5. The winner of tomorrow's match will play again on Sunday at 2 p.m.
