CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team (1-1, 0-1 SAC) will travel to Johnson City, Tennessee to take on the no. 21 Carson-Newman University Eagles (2-1, 1-0) on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 2:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
-The Royals fell to the Indians, ranked 20th in the D2SIDA Poll, by a score of 70-57 in their home and conference opener.
Kalaya Hall led all Royals with 25 points after shooting 8-of-13 from the floor and 7-of-8 from the foul line.
Kiana Barkhoff led under the glass with 10 rebounds to go along with her eight points while
Malea Garrison secured seven rebounds of her own off the bench.
ABOUT THE ROYALS
-Queens is currently led by Hall who is averaging 20.5 points per game this season while Barkhoff is averaging nine points and nine rebounds per game.
Kristy Hamze is averaging 9.5 points per game.
-The Royals opened their season with a win over Emory & Henry. It is the first time that Queens has kicked off their season in the win column since 2015.
ABOUT THE EAGLES
-Carson Newman entered the year ranked No. 21 in the WBCA Preseaon Poll and is currently ranked fifth in this week's D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll after getting off to a 2-1 start this season. The Eagles won their last two games convincingly, defeating USC Aiken, 99-46, and Tusculum, 94-68.
- The Eagles have four players who are averaging double-digits in points. Lindsey Taylor is leading with 17.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, while Braelyn Wykle is averaging 17 points per game. Campbell Penland is posting 14.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while Tori Rutherford is the fourth leading scorer with 10 points per game.
SERIES HISTORY
-Carson Newman leads the series with the Royals, 13-2. The Royals will be looking to snap a 13-game losing streak with the Eagles that dates back to January 11, 2014.
-In their most recent matchup on Feb. 6, 2021, Queens fell 93-62. Hall led the Royals with a career-high 26 points, seven assists, and three steals.

Christina Deng added six points apiece, and Deng finished with seven rebounds.
SAC PRESEASON POLL
-The Eagles were picked to finish first in this season's SAC Preseason Coaches Poll while the Royals were voted to finish 12th. Additionally, Carson Newman's Wykle and Taylor were named to the preseason all-conference first team, while Addison Byrd was named to the second.
