He ranked second among all South Atlantic Conference players in batting average and was among the Leagues' Top 10 in hits and home runs. Jones totaled 67 hits on the season, including 12 doubles, one triple and 10 home runs to go along with 43 runs scored, 34 RBI and eight stolen bases.
The Chapel Hill native had a fielding percentage of .981 and ended the season on a 21-game hitting streak.
Jacobson, a D2CCAA All-Region award winner, was voted to the second team as a relief pitcher. On the mound, the right-hander appeared in 10 games with four starts, posting a 2-2 record with two saves and a 2.52 ERA with 45 strikeouts in 39.1 innings of work.
Nominations were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by NCCSIA members.
