CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The No. 19 Queens University of Charlotte earned a 4-0 shutout of sixth-seeded Newberry College on Tuesday afternoon at the Howard Levine Tennis Center in the SAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
 
The Royals earned the day's first point by winning two doubles matches, beginning with a 6-1 win in the third flight by the tandem of Sebastian Meum and Kasper Rolfsen. The No. 28 duo of Paolo Bompieri and Joel Dunlap finished of doubles play with a 6-3 win of their own over the nation's 48^th-ranked team.
 
Singles play ended quickly as Queens won three straight matchups to claim the overall win. Junior Julian Bosch started play with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2, followed by a 6-4, 6-1 win for Dunlap in the fifth flight. Senior Mathias Degardin clinched the match decision with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph in the fourth flight.
 
Queens will face off against third-seeded and nationally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne University in the SAC Tournament Semifinals on Thursday, April 18 at 9 a.m. in Rock Hill, S.C.
