MOORESVILLE, N.C. - Both the Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's triathlon teams swept the podium once more at the Tri-at-the-Trump this morning in Mooresville, N.C.

On the women's side, Katharina Krosta (1:08:59), Caitlin Roper (1:09:45), and Sara Diaz-Restrepo (1:11:57) took the top-three spots overall and the top-three finishes in the non-draft legal race.

Additionally, five more women placed in the top-10 including senior Allie Dominicali in fourth (1:12:53), Phelan Purnell in fifth (1:13:40), Caylan Bromley in seventh (1:15:55), Ida Osterman in ninth (1:16:37), and Maddie Koler in tenth (1:18:37).

In the NCAA draft-legal race, Natalie Bash placed first with a combined time of 1:06:14, while Sam McInnes placed in fourth (1:07:44) and Lia Federbusch placed in eighth (1:08:49).

The NCAA-emerging women avenged their loss in September at the ETSU SoHo Dam Tri as they recorded a combined 13 points to defeat East Tennessee State University and David and Elkins College.

"Our women's NCAA draft-legal crew showed what a month of swim work and pace-line rotation practice could do in our narrow win over ETSU," head coach of triathlon Sonni Dyer stated. "A month ago, they beat us. Teamwork has made the difference today. I knew we were better runners when we get to the front of the race."

On the men's side, Sebastian Rivera Del Hierro, Milan Tomin, and Austin Podhajsky took spots one, two, and three on the podium as well, as they once again swept North Carolina State University, Liberty University, Virginia Tech, and Clemson University.

The men also took all but one spot in the top-10 as graduate student Alec Mundt placed in fourth (1:00:19), Joachim Phillipps in fifth (1:00:32), Jack DeWeerdt in sixth (1:00:52), Miles Fowler in seventh (1:01:21), Jared Eytcheson in ninth (1:01:40), and Nils Reckmeier in tenth (1:01:48).

"The non-draft women and men's squads continue to show good progress as we make our way to the Conference Championships in two weeks in Virginia," Dyer continued. "Like every year, we're going to face a tough Naval Academy squad. So everything we're doing is geared towards preparing for that at the Olympic distance race."

Next, both squads will compete in the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Triathlon Conference (MACTC) Championships in Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia Saturday, October 19. Also in the same day, the USAT Varsity women will compete in the USAT Varsity Women East Regional Qualifier in Virginia.
