MISSION VIEJO, CA--- The Queens University of Charlotte club triathlon won the USAT Collegiate Club National Championships this past weekend for the fourth time in school history. This also the third championship in a row for Queens. 

In the mixed team relay, the Royals was able to pull off a wire-to-wire victory as it was 2:38 margin of victory. Tristen Jones, Clare Dasso, Daniel Gossow and Jana Millat was able to get the win for the Royals to capture the team's fourth team mixed relay championship.

Men's Team Breakdown
In the Olympic Distance race, the Royals scored 16 points as four athletes finished in the top 10. Joshua Berles finished second, followed by third and fourth place finishes by Dan O'Dell and Jeremy Maclean. To secure the points, Daniel Gossow got the seventh-place finish. In the sprint distance draft-legal race, Tristen Jones got the fourth-place finish and scored 10 points to help win the men's division with 26 total points. 

Women's Team Breakdown
Jana Millat finished third in the sprint distance draft-legal race to help the Royals score seven points. To get the second-place finish, four Royals finished in the top 20, including Clare Dasso at fifth place, Anna Besenyei at eighth, Juliana Jaramillo at eleventh and Jana Millat at thirteenth to score 37 points. The Royals finished second for the women's division with a score of 44 points.

"This past weekend was electric to say the least.  We secured our 3rd Overall and Men's Titles in a row, our 4th overall and men's titles total, brought the mixed relay title back home in dominant fashion, and our women's team were runners-up in one of the closest women's team races in recent years.  The results are phenomenal and inspiring, but what will always stand out the most is how these titles are won with love as the foundation.  This team has so much love for one another and in a sport that is normally so individualized, our greatest asset will always be TEAM.  Go Royals!"
