GREENEVILLE, TENN. -- The Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis team, ranked No. 16 team in the latest Oracle/ITA Rankings, defeated No. 31 Tusculum College in a South Atlantic Conference matchup, winning 5-4 at the Nichols Tennis Complex. The win extends Queens' win streak to four matches in a row and is the Royals' second straight win over a ranked opponent.

In doubles play, the Royals jumped out to a 2-1 lead with sophomore Julian Bosch and freshman Joel Dunlap winning their matchup 8-6 to take the No. 1 spot. Sophomores Agustin Aran Martin and Sebastian Meum were victorious in the No. 3 spot, winning their matchup 8-2.

Senior Andor Vas began singles play with a win in the No. 1 spot in just two sets 6-2, 6-4. Aran Martin, the 53rd-ranked singles player in the country, followed with a 6-3, 6-3 triumph in the No. 3 position.

After Tusculum evened the match score at 4-4 with three consecutive singles' wins, Meum battled through a three-set thriller and came away with a 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 win at No. 4 to seal the road win for Queens.

"This was a tough road match and our guys came up big when we needed it most," said Head Coach Billy Boykin.

The Royals will travel to Hickory, N.C. next to battle Lenoir-Rhyne University on Wednesday, April 11. Play is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
