The Series

Mars Hill leads the overall series 5-4 but Queens tallied a 65-62 victory over Mars Hill on January 6 in Mars Hill, N.C. earlier this season.

Junior forward Lade Adepoju had career-highs of 27 points and 16 rebounds after making 9-of-16 shots from the floor and 9-of-11 attempts from the free throw line to help Queens to its first South Atlantic Conference win of the season.

Head Coach Sarah Jansen, who previously spent four years in charge of the Mars Hill program, picked up her 50th career coaching victory with the triumph.

After trailing by a one-point margin at intermission, the Royals took a one-point lead with 6:48 remaining in the third following two Adepoju free throws. The lead changed hands six times across the final five minutes of the period with the final lead change coming with 47 seconds left after a jump shot from Robinson.

Mars Hill briefly retook the lead early in the fourth quarter on a three-pointer from Mariah Johnson, but four unanswered points from Queens' freshman Herning Wang put her team back in front for good with just under seven minutes left to play.

Freshman Kristian Eanes, Robinson and Adepoju combined to make six free throws over the last minute of regulation to put the game away.

Eanes was the team's second-leading scorer against MHU, finishing with 10 points to go along with career-highs of five assists and four steals. Fellow freshman Caitlyn Moore chipped in nine points, while Robinson registered five points, five rebounds and three assists in 19 minutes off of the bench.
