CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team opens the New Year by hosting rival and fellow South Atlantic Conference member Wingate University inside Curry Arena.

Queens Royals (3-8, 0-5 SAC)
(Game Notes)
-Queens most recently fell to Limestone, 76-53, on Dec. 30, in the final non-conference game of the season.
-Queens completed the non-conference slate with a 3-3 record, finishing .500 or better in its non-conference schedule for the first time since the 2012-2013 season when Queens went 2-2 in non-conference action.
-In the Royals most recent victory versus North Greenville, 98-71 on Dec. 6, the Royals scored their most points in a game since Feb. 25, 2006, when Queens defeated St. Andrews University 98-84. The 27-point margin of victory was also the largest margin of victory for the Royals versus a Division II opponent since Feb. 12, 2013, when Queens defeated Belmont Abbey College 86-55.
- The Royals are led by 
Lade Adepoju who averages 152. points and 7.9 rebounds per contest. The junior recently missed two games due to injury, but returned to register 12 points and nine rebounds in 33 minutes against regionally-ranked Limestone College over the weekend.
 
-Senior 
Mendy McNeese is second on the team with 11.5 points per game , while freshman 
Kristian Eanes ranks third with 10.8 points per game and has a team-high 50.6% shooting percentage.
Wingate Bulldogs (10-2, 4-1 SAC)
-Wingate is currently tied for third in the most recent D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll and has spent time among the NCAA Division II Top 25 this season.The Bulldogs were picked atop the SAC Preseason Coaches' Poll receiving seven of 11 first-place votes, and currently hold a tie for second place in the conference standings with Catawba College.
-Last year Wingate finished 26-6 overall, 18-4 in conference play, winning the conference tournament championship after finishing second in the league during the regular season.
-Wingate is currently ranked No. 22 in the WBCA National Rankings. The Bulldogs peaked at No. 6 in the national poll after a 3-0 start to the season, the highest ranking for the program since the final poll of 2008.
-The Bulldogs most recently defeated Chowan University, 72-69, in a non-conference game on Dec. 31. Wingate's only SAC loss came at the hands of Catawba, 60-47, on Dec. 19.
-The Bulldogs have made 15 all-time appearances in the NCAA Tournament, reaching the Elite Eight on three occasions, most recently in 2008.
 
-Forward Marta Miscenko leads the Bulldogs with 15.5 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. The senior is also a force on the defensive end of the floor, ranking among the NCAA's Top 10 with 2.91 blocks per contest.
 
-Danasia Witherspoon follows with 11.6 points and 8.1 rebounds of her own, while Caroline Averette (11.4 points per game) is the third Bulldog to average double digits on offense and makes 36.8% of her three-point attempts.
