Queens Falls to No. 11 LMU

Box Score HARROGATE, Tenn.-  The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team suffered a loss to the No. 11/9 ranked (WBCA Poll /D2SIDA Poll) Lincoln Memorial Railsplitters on Saturday, February 18, 2017. The Royals dropped to 4-21 overall and 4-16 within the South Atlantic Conference after the 97-45 loss. The Railsplitters move to 23-2 overall and 18-2 within league.

An early lead by the Railsplitters had Queens looking to overcome an 11-2 start that used up half of the first quarter. Although the Royals managed to find baskets from Maggie Stewart and Mendy McNeese, the first 10 minutes broke with the nationally ranked team holding a 15 point game (23-8). Unable to move the offense, Queens only scored five points in the second quarter as the teams broke for the half with a 46-13 score.

Queen rattled off shots at the end of the third quarter to keep the Railsplitters from extending their lead with baskets coming from McKell Oliverio and a free-throw from Stewart.  The clock would expire at the end of the game with the LMU posting the win.

Queens will travel to Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday, February 22 for a 6 p.m., tipoff with the Bears.
