BRADENTON, Fla. – Queens University of Charlotte's
Vincent Schneider completed the decathlon in 15
th place this afternoon at the NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Entering the day in 11
th place, Schneider began the day grabbing a 12
th place finish in the 110 meter hurdles in 15.63 for 775 points. He then took seventh place in the discus with a throw of 37.98 meters for 624 points before finishing 12
th in the pole vault with a mark of 4.20 meters, which tied his personal best. He through a distance of 41.96 meters in the javelin for 471 points before closing competition with a 13
th place finish in the 1500 meter run in 4:52.42. His time was a new personal record in the event, and the 604 points earned in the final event would bring Schneider's point total to 6,637.
Elijah Inuwa made his debut at the outdoor championships competing in the men's 800 meter prelims this evening. He would finish 18
th overall with a time of 1:53.94.
The NCAA DII Outdoor Track and Field Championships continue tomorrow in Bradenton, Fla.
