Brevard, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte men's tennis (15-2, 10-3 SAC) advanced to the next round of conference play on Thursday, April 16, 2015, after seeing a 5-0 victory against the Wolves of Newberry College (12-9, 6-6 SAC) in the quarterfinal round of the South Atlantic Conference Men's Tennis Championship.
Queens started off the match strong taking all three doubles courts as
Zachary Williams and
Ole-Jacob Meum took the first point with an 8-4 win for the No. 3 Doubles court.
Jules Athalis and
Will Roberson found an 8-5 win over the No. 2 Wolves' pair Carlos Nicolopuls and Richard Zeh.
Per-Erik Soler and
Andor Vas combined to take down the No. 1 spot with an 8-5 victory.
With two points left to grab, Williams found a 6-0, 6-4 No. 6 Singles win over Zeh setting his doubles partner up to take the win. Meum flew through the first set going 6-1 before battling to take 7-5 second set for the game winning point on Court 5.
Royals move on to the semifinals tomorrow facing top seed Wingate.
