Box Score HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's basketball team was on the road tonight as they faced off against conference foe Lincoln Memorial University. The Royals led early in the game, but following a LMU run with ten minutes to go they trailed the remainder of the time.

The Royals were able to maintain a lead early with senior
Shonice Pettaway scoring eight of the team's first ten points, but LMU was able to even the score at 10-10 with 11:58 to go in the first half. With multiple lead changes happening over the next portion of the game, it was LMU who was able to find their footing and take a lead 20-28 lead with 3:26 to go in the half. Following a
Micha Cox three pointer Queens was able to narrow the lead to 25-30 at the end of the half.

Pettaway led the Royals with 15 points at half, and sophomore
Tia Hudgins led the team with six boards. Queens struggled on the glass and gave up eleven offensive rebounds to the Railsplitters, and were outscored 8-22 in the paint.

LMU was able to expand the lead to ten in the first minute of the second half, and held the margin until the halfway point of the half. But, the Royals were able to rally and following two three pointers by Pettaway closed the gap to 45-48 with seven minutes to go in the game.

With 3:26 the Royals again narrowed a growing LMU lead with Pettaway draining another three pointer to make it 52-55. As the final minutes ticked away the Royals could not break through, and eventually fell by the score of 61-66.

Pettaway led all scorers with 29 points, and also tallied seven rebounds. The Royals were led in this category by sophomores
Tia Hudgins and
Nikia Squire who finished with eight boards apiece. On the night Queens 37% from the floor, and out rebounded the Railsplitters 39-37.

Following tonight the Royals are 1-3 overall, and 1-2 in conference. They host Coker College this Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
