Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's soccer team lost 3-1 to Lenoir-Rhyne University, ranked 23
rd in the nation, this afternoon at Dickson Field. The loss brings the Royals' SAC record to 5-4-2 at the end of the regular season. The Bears close the regular season with the SAC title and a 8-1-1 conference record.

Lenoir-Rhyne would get on the board first with a goal almost nine minutes into play when Hanna Kiebel curled a ball into the right top corner of the net just out of Queens goalkeeper
Jessyca Young's reach. Garcelle Alequine was awarded the assist on the play after finding Kiebel at the top left corner of the box.

Queens saw a great opportunity to equalize the match in the 26
th when
Brooke Foil broke away from her defender sending a pass to
Caitlyn Rodrigues in the center of the field. Rodrigues would take the shot from the top of the box, but it was turned away by L-R goalkeeper Genny Little.

A foul would give the Royals another opportunity to score a little over a minute later, but Nicole Hoff's shot off the free kick went just wide of the net.

The Bears would go ahead 2-0 with just under 10 minutes left in the half, with a goal Kendall Smith. Smith, having received a through ball from Leah Mullins, chipped Young for the goal. The 2-0 score would hold into the break.

In the second half, Erin Dudley would give L-R a 3-0 advantage scoring a goal in the 62
nd minute. Her ball would go over Queens goalkeeper
Kelsey Seretis' head and into the back of the net. Seretis entered the game following halftime.

Despite the three goal deficit, the Royals continued their hunt for a goal, scoring in the 88
th minute.
Kelli Gottry would start the attack feeding the ball to Rodrigues on the right side of the field. Rodrigues then found Foil overlapping who after taking a few dribbles crossed the ball into Gottry who put the ball in the net.

The Royals were outshot 16-7 in today's game.

Stephanie Supcoe and
Jennifer Swanstrom, were each recognized for their careers as Royals.
