Kennedy and Team USA win Deaf World Cup

ANKARA, TURKEY- With an 8-0 win over Germany, the USA Deaf Women's Soccer team automatically advanced to the 2012 World Deaf Football Championship game on July 28th.

In the three games that the USA has played Queens University of Charlotte's Heather Kennedy (Colorado Springs, Colo., Air Academy) has accumulated three goals and three assists. The team defeated Russia 1-0 to open tournament play before moving on to defeat Japan 4-1 in game two. They then took on Germany to pick up the convincing win advancing to the finals.

UPDATE- Queens University of Charlotte's Heather Kennedy and the USA Deaf Women's Soccer Team faced Russia in the title game winning 1-0. The USA was able to score a goal midway through the first half, and held out for the win with a strong back line and great goalkeeping.
