Tennis opens conference tournament with big wins

Sumter, S.C. - The Queens University of Charlotte tennis teams opened the Conference Carolinas Tennis Championship with big wins that allowed both the men's and women's teams advance to the semifinal rounds.  Due to the threat of rain this weekend, both teams were forced to play their semi-final match this evening.

The women opened their day with a 5-0 win against Pfeiffer, before beating Mount Olive 5-1 in their semi-final match.  Tomorrow they take on Erskine at noon in the Finals.  Queens is 15-3 on the season, and 7-1 in conference play.

The men started their day 5-0 win against Lees-McRae, before dropping their semi-final match against Mount Olive 5-1.  The men finish their season with a 10-7 record, and a 7-3 mark in conference matches.
