CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's tennis teams hosted King College in a Conference Carolinas matchup today. The Royals handled the visiting Tornado with ease, with the men picking up an 8-1 win and the women taking their match 9-0.

The men took off to an early lead after the doubles pairings of Joshua Bloch (Johannesburg, South Africa, King David) and Ignacio Casali (Farmingdale, N.Y., Farmingdale), and Andre Bafume (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ateneo) and Gustavo Munhoz (Santos, Brazil, COC Universitario) won their matches.  With two points on the board Queens used  that momentum to help propel them to a clean sweep of their singles matches.  Bloch, Casali, Bafume, and Munhoz were joined by Christiaan Lee-Daigle (Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada, L'Essor Secondary School) and Raahil Dhruva (London, England, Parmiter's) in picking up wins in the singles portion of the match.  Today's result brings the men's record to 9-6 on the season, and 7-2 in conference play.

The women took on a short-handed King side that caused the East Division leaders little trouble. The doubles pairings of Christina Rustscheff (Toronto, Canada, Bayview Glen) and Erin Williams (Arden, N.C., T.C. Roberson), and Gillian McLinden (Marietta, Georgia, Marietta) and Amanda Poole (Douglasville, Ga., South Paulding) picked up doubles wins for the Royals in the early part of the match. Roberts and Williams  continued their winning ways in their singles matches where they were joined by Elena Mileva (Sofia, Bulgaria, First Private English Language School) and Kaitlyn Blakey (Keller, Texas, Keller) in picking up victories for the Royals. The women finish their season as East Division champs after going 13-3 overall and 9-1 in Conference Carolinas play.

The Royals next travel to Sumter, S.C., April 20-22 where they will be competing in the conference tournament.
