CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's tennis teams returned home to face Erskine College in a Conference Carolinas Match today. The men were able to rip off a 8-1, but the women fell in a highly contested match 4-5. Following today the brings the men stand at 8-6 on the season and the women's at 12-3.
The Men were able to win all but one of the doubles matches, with the pairings of
Christiaan Lee-Daigle (Tecumseh, Ontario, Canada, L'Essor Secondary School) and
Raahil Dhruva (London, England, Parmiter's), and
Joshua Bloch (Johannesburg, South Africa, King David) and
Ignacio Casali (Farmingdale, N.Y., Farmingdale) picking up wins for the Royals. The Royals won all of the men's singles matches, and only one match went longer than two sets. Picking up wins were Lee-Daigle, Bloch, Casali, Dhruva,
Andre Bafume (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ateneo) (Farmingdale, N.Y., Farmingdale), and
Andre Bafume (Leme, Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ateneo).
The Women found themselves in a hole after they dropped all their doubles matches, but rallied in singles to pick up four wins. Picking up wins for the Royals were
Elena Mileva (Sofia, Bulgaria, First Private English Language School),
Christina Rustscheff (Toronto, Canada, Bayview Glen),
Morgan Roberts (Fort Pierce, Fla., Treasure Coast), and
Erin Williams (Arden, N.C., T.C. Roberson).
Queens returns to action tomorrow when they host King College at 12pm.
