Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte drops to 3-11 on the season after dropping a conference game with North Greenville University 58-45 in women's basketball action this afternoon at the Grady Cole Center. The Crusaders improved to 11-3 on the season with the win. The Royals are no 1-4 in the league, while North Greenville remains undefeated at 6-0.
The first half featured struggling offenses from both teams as the Royals shot 20-percent from the floor and North Greenville finished with a 26-percent clip. At the break, the Crusaders led 21-19.
In the second, North Greenville improved to 41-percent shooting on the back of freshman forward Courtney Friddle who finished the game with 16 points.
Sarah Myatt (Show Camp, N.C., Southern Alamance) brought the Royals to within one of the visitors with a layup at 7:02, but a 17-5 run from the Crusaders secured the win.
Myatt recorded a double-double this afternoon in just 17-minutes of play scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Shonice Pettaway (Walstonburg, N.C., Greene Central) turned in 12 points, while
Shanel Sweet (Land O'Lakes, Fla., Land O' Lakes) added eight.
Friddle picked up nine rebounds to go with her scoring, while Karly Stache added 11 points for the Crusaders.
The Royals will look to turn things around on Wednesday against Coker College in a game that begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Grady Cole Center.
