Women's tennis dominates Lees-McRae; men's team stumbles

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Queens University of Charlotte's tennis programs split their matches with Lees-McRae Wednesday afternoon, with the women defeating the 46-ranked Bobcats 8-1 and the men falling 1-8.

The women's team continued their perfect season, improving their conference record to 6-0 (11-0 overall). The Royals swept through their singles flights, surrendering only one set. The success carried over to doubles action as the Royals won two of their three matches.

The men's team couldn't keep pace with Conference Carolinas's top-ranked Bobcats, falling 1-8. Outmatched in the singles flights, Queens was able to steal a doubles match, 9-7, as Christiaan Lee-Daigle (Tecumseh, Ontario, L'Essor Secondary School) and Raahil Dhruva (London, England, Parmiter's) defeated Travis VanHoy and Steve Karendal in the top flight. With the loss, Queens slides to 2-3 (6-3) and seventh in the conference.

Both Queens teams are back in action Tuesday, March 30th when they play host to Pfeiffer University
for a 2:00 p.m. match.
