Hannah Aspden has been named October Female InterCon Student-Athlete of the Month.

Aspden made an immediate splash during her first month of collegiate competition for Queens swimming, which opened the season ranked No. 1 overall in the TYR/CSCAA Preseason Poll. The freshman set three American Paralympic Short Course Meters swimming records in the Royals' tri-meet with University of Indianapolis and Wingate University.

The Raleigh, N.C., native turned in times of 35.35 in the 50 SC Meter Backstroke, 1:13.09 in the 100 SC Meter Backstroke, and 1:07.55 in the 100 SC Meter Freestyle races to write her name in the national records books. During October, Queens was a perfect 3-0, winning meets against Indianapolis, Wingate, and the defending nine-time NCAA Division III Champion Emory University.
