Wild Returns to Queens as Assistant Coach

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Queens University of Charlotte cross country and track & field head coach Will Crocker has announced the addition of former Royal Evie Wild to the coaching staff.

Wild returns to Queens after competing for the Royals from 2021–2024 before completing her collegiate career at High Point University from 2024–2026. A native of Manchester, UK, Wild graduated from High Point with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.

"I am very excited to welcome Evie back to Queens in an assistant coaching role with our men's and women's track & field/cross country programs," Crocker said. "I believe the success and accomplishments Evie achieved as an athlete will significantly help our program continue to grow moving forward."

During her collegiate career, Wild competed in cross country while primarily focusing on the 800-meter and 1,500-meter events on the track. She recorded personal bests of 2:09.62 in the 800m and 4:29.04 in the 1,500m.

During her time at Queens, Wild ran 2:11.18 in the indoor 800m, which currently ranks second all-time in program history. She also finished sixth in the 800m at the 2024 ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 2:11.44.

Wild went on to earn conference podium finishes at High Point, placing third in the 800m at the 2025 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships in a personal-best 2:09.62. She followed with a runner-up finish in the 800m at the 2026 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships, clocking a 2:11.88.

Her personal-best marks also rank among High Point's all-time performances, with her 800m time ranking ninth in program history.

In addition to her experience as a collegiate athlete, Wild is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and has experience working with athletes across a variety of sports from a strength and conditioning and sports performance perspective.

"I'm extremely excited to return to Queens in a coaching role and have the opportunity to give back to a program that played such an important role in my collegiate experience," Wild said. "I'm looking forward to working with the student-athletes and staff and helping the program continue to succeed."

Wild returns to Queens with experience as both a collegiate athlete and strength and conditioning professional, adding a familiar face to Crocker's coaching staff as the Royals continue to build their men's and women's cross country and track & field programs.
