Box Score CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte field hockey team hosted Ohio this evening in their home opener, falling 3-2 to the Bobcats. The Royals now sit 1-2 on the season, while Ohio improves to 2-1.
INSIDE THE MATCH
The Royals struck first in the match when
Delfina Gonzalez Fontan put the ball in the cage in the 6
th minute of action. A goal from
Liv Rainwater followed early in the second period, putting Queens in front 2-0 on their home field.
Olivia Gain recorded the assist on the play.
Tory Cisney answered with Ohio's first goal of the game less than a minute after Rainwater's, pulling the Bobcats within one. They then tied the game up, scoring off a penalty corner in the 26
th minute.
Cisney scored the game-winner for Ohio in the 59
th minute, giving the Royals little time to respond before the final horn sounded.
