THE SHORT STORY
Jacksonville University pulls away late to capture a 6-2 win over Queens University of Charlotte in the final game of the series this afternoon. The Royals cut the lead to 3-2, but late-inning runs by the Dolphins secured the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jacksonville used a pair of RBI singles in the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead.
-Following four scoreless innings, Lenox Lively's pinch-hit leadoff home run cut the lead to 2-1 in the top of the fifth. Royal Hunter Huneycutt singled with one down and then stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch to move into scoring position, but the inning ended on a strikeout.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Jacksonville got the run back on a single and an RBI double to push its lead to 3-1.
- Queens once again cut the lead to one this time on Bradley Brown's leadoff home run in the top of the sixth to make it 3-2.
-The Dolphins added three runs in the eighth to take a 6-2 lead and were able to set the Royals down in order each of the last three innings to secure the win.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Huneycutt led the Royals at the plate, going 3-for-4 and stealing a base.
- Mitchell Basterrechea, Brown, Lively, and Dylan Schaefer each tallied a hit. Brown and Lively connected for home runs, and Basterrechea registered a double.
- Starter pitcher Jake Young fell to 2-2 on the season. He scattered seven hits over four and a third innings, while giving up three runs and striking out four.
