THE SHORT STORY
Queens University of Charlotte baseball team dropped the second game of the series 6-2 to Jacksonville University tonight. The Dolphins jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Royals cut the lead to 3-2. Jacksonville, in the late innings, posted another three runs to secure the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After both teams went scoreless in the first inning, Jacksonville posted three runs in the bottom of the second using three hits and taking advantage of an error to lead 3-0.

Grayson Childers put the Royals on the board in the top of the third when he belted a solo home run to cut the lead to 3-1.
- Queens was able to cut the lead down to one in the top of the sixth. With one down,
Anibal Rivera singled to center and then moved to second when
Bradley Brown singled to third. Rivera came around to score when
Mitchell Basterrechea singled to left center to make it 3-2 before the frame ended.
- Jacksonville in the bottom of the sixth pushed two runs across, and in the eighth, added another off a home run to left center to go up 6-2.
- The Royals in the ninth go one on with two down, but a fly out to right field ended the game.

BY THE NUMBERS
- Both teams tallied 16 hits combined (eight hits per team), with three of them being doubles and two being home runs.
- Rivera and
Jacob Grimes each finished going 2-for-4 at the plate. Rivera also scored a run and tallied a double.
- Childers' home run was his seventh of the season and his third this season against Jacksonville. It is his first in this road series.

Hunter Huneycutt, Brown, and Basterrechea each recorded a hit.
- Starting pitcher
Joey Rullers allowed five runs (two earned) on seven hits over six innings of work to take the loss and fall to 2-8 on the season. He struck out seven on the night.
- Reliever
Avery Booker allowed one run on one hit in two innings, while striking out three.
