BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team (2-5) faced the Sharks of LIU (6-1) this afternoon on the road, falling 13-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0 at the end of the first quarter, Queens'
Ryan McDaniel got the Royals on the board with back-to-back goals to begin the second. LIU responded with a pair to take a 4-2 lead before two more goals from the Royals knotted the game up again, 4-4. LIU then had the final word of the half, putting the ball in the back of the cage twice to take a 6-4 lead into the half.
The Sharks' three goals scored in the third quarter were sandwiched between Queens' two goals, giving the game a 9-6 score heading into the final period, where LIU outscored the Royals narrowly, 4-3, to hold out for the win.
