THE SHORT STORY
After earning a first-round bye in the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament, the Queens University of Charlotte men's basketball team took the court on Friday night and took down No. 6 West Georgia behind a forceful defensive effort. The Royals held the Wolves to 63 points, the third-lowest output by a Queens opponent this season. The Quarterfinals victory sends the Royals to their second straight ASUN Tournament Semifinals appearance, as Queens will match up against No. 2 Austin Peay.

BY THE NUMBERS
-Nasir Mann was a force all night and posted his fourth double-double of the season with a game-high 17 points and 12 rebounds.
-Carson Schwieger was lethal from downtown, netting four threes as the redshirt sophomore finished with 14 points, three rebounds, and one assist.
-Avantae Parker provided a spark and earned Buddy the Street Dog after the game for his performance. The Columbia, South Carolina native scored 12 points, grabbed five rebounds, swatted two shots, and swiped a pair of steals.
-Sharpshooter Chris Ashby reached double figures for the 21st time this season with 10 points. The senior leader impacted the game on the defensive end with two rebounds and two steals.
-Jordan Watford and Maban Jabriel came off the bench to score 15 combined points on 5-of-9 shooting while adding four rebounds.
-Kenneth Chime led the Wolves with a 13-point and 12-rebound double-double.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
-Queens jumped on West Georgia in the opening minutes, grabbing a 10-0 lead behind a physical defensive effort that forced two Wolves turnovers. Nasir Mann led the charge with five quick points while Carson Schwieger added a triple.
-Holding a slim 17-13 lead with 7:50 remaining the first half, Queens strung together a 12-4 run on 5-of-6 shooting to take a 29-17 lead into the under four media timeout. The run was capped off by back-to-back triples by Nasir Mann and Carson Schwieger.
-Leading 36-30 with 18:00 minutes remaining in the game, Queens sparked another 12-2 run on 5-of-7 shooting, and capitalized on three West Georgia turnovers. Just minutes later, the Royals put together another 12-2 run to extend the lead to 23.
-West Georgia wouldn't back down, ripping off a 10-0 run over three minutes to cut the deficit back down to 11 and force a Queens timeout with 3:36 remaining.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
-Queens held the Wolves to a 34-percent clip from the field, and a 13-percent mark from downtown.
-West Georgia controlled the glass 48-37, and turned 18 offensive rebounds into 17 second-chance points.
-The Royals forced 14 West Georgia turnovers and capitalized with 14 points off those miscues.

Queens advanced to the ASUN Tournament Semifinals for the second straight year. The Royals will square off against No. 2 seed Austin Peay tomorrow, March 7th at 7:30 p.m. inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena with the winner moving on to the championship to face the winner of FGCU and Central Arkansas.
