THE SHORT STORY
Queens battled throughout Saturday afternoon's Homecoming matchup but came up short in a 71–55 loss to North Alabama at Curry Arena. The Royals stayed competitive early and responded out of halftime with a strong third quarter, but the Lions used timely scoring and second-chance opportunities to pull away in the final ten minutes.

BY THE NUMBERS
  • Brenae Jones-Grant led the Royals in scoring, finishing with ten points on a perfect four-for-four shooting performance off the bench.
  • Hannah Hicks added nine points and pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, anchoring the Royals on the glass.
  • Dayuna Colvin and Magda Freire each chipped in eight points, while Alyssa Lewis knocked down two three-pointers on her way to eight points.

  • North Alabama built momentum in the second quarter, using an efficient offensive stretch to take a 38–24 lead into halftime.
  • The Royals answered coming out of the break, outscoring the Lions 14–12 in the third quarter and trimming the deficit through paint touches and trips to the free-throw line.
  • North Alabama regained separation in the fourth quarter with a series of transition baskets and second-chance points to close out the contest.
