CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Queens University of Charlotte women's volleyball fell to Lipscomb, 3-0, on Friday night at Curry Arena, dropping the ASUN matchup by scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 25-20.
THE SHORT STORY
SET ONE
Queens dropped the opening set, 25-20. The Royals held a 15-14 advantage before Lipscomb pulled ahead and closed the set with a 25-20 win. DeSchryver and Layson contributed kills during the set as Queens totaled 13 kills.
SET TWO
Lipscomb opened the second set with five consecutive points. Queens worked to close the gap, but the Bisons maintained their lead and secured a 25-18 victory. The Royals recorded 13 kills in the set, with DeSchryver and Layson contributing offensively.
SET THREE
Queens opened the third set with a 3-0 lead and later held an 11-7 advantage. Lipscomb rallied to tie the set at 16-16 before taking the lead and closing out the match with a 25-20 win. Queens finished the set with 11 kills.
MATCH NOTES
- Queens moves to 5-14 overall and 1-5 in ASUN play.
- Lipscomb improves to 12-4 overall and 5-1 in conference action.
- The Royals finished with 37 kills and a .179 hitting percentage.
- Lipscomb recorded 47 kills and hit .299.

"Overall, I thought our serve-receivers, Callie DeSchryver and Tilley Collins, did a solid job handling powerful serves and getting us back in system," head coach Matt Stolz said. "Marlee did a great job running the offense, distributing the ball evenly and making us difficult to defend. We also thought she did a great job offensively. We're looking forward to facing Bellarmine at home on Sunday for our Taylor Swift and Camper Day."
