Royals Host Catamounts for Friday Night Non-Conference Clash

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Queens (7-3) continues its non-conference slate against Western Carolina (4-5) in a Friday evening battle inside the Levine Center. The Royals are off to a strong September start, while the Catamounts look to rebound following a pair of weekend losses.

The match will be streamed live on ESPN+, with live statistics available on the Queens official StatBroadcast page.

Queens is anchored by Emma Norris, who leads the team with 100 kills (2.56/set). Callie DeSchryver adds balance on the outside with 98 kills and a team-best .253 hitting percentage, while Elizabeth Layson provides another weapon with 82 kills. Setter Megan Kelly has dished out 165 assists, part of an effort that has the Royals averaging 13.1 kills per set. Defensively, Tilley Collins paces the back row at 4.08 digs per set, while Norris leads at the net with 1.21 blocks per set. Queens has held opponents to a .195 hitting percentage this season.

SCOUTING WESTERN CAROLINA
Western Carolina has leaned on junior outside hitter Zoe Zudans, who paces the team with 111 kills (3.36/set). Setter Katie Boney directs the offense with 352 assists (10.35/set), and libero Eda Yalçinkaya leads the back line with 149 digs (4.38/set). Collectively, WCU averages 12.6 kills per set on .189 hitting while nearly matching Queens at the net with 2.1 blocks per set.

Statistically, the matchup is even across the board. Queens owns the edge in hitting percentage (.216 to .189) and digs (15.9 to 15.4), while WCU holds a slight advantage in aces (1.24 to 1.20).

LAST TIME OUT
Queens closed the Fall Classic with a four-set victory over UNC Asheville. Emma Norris powered the offense with a match-high 11 kills, while Elizabeth Layson and Ellis Sargent totaled 19 more. The Royals dominated at the net, posting 13 blocks, led by Lauren Stiles with a career-high seven. The win capped a strong weekend showing for the Royals, going 2-1.
