The Short Story:
The Queens University of Charlotte baseball team dropped a Tuesday night non-conference tilt in Rock Hill, South Carolina against the Winthrop Eagles by a final score of 25-0. The Eagles sprayed 18 hits on the day and capitalized on 10 free passes by the Royals pitching staff.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Winthrop jumped on the board in the bottom of the first inning as Gabe Natividad led off the inning with a single to right center. After stealing second, Jaylen Hernandez placed an infield single to first base, and ended up scoring on a misplay by the Royals defense. Koby Kropf followed it up with a single down the right field line to put runners on the corners. Queens exchanged another run for a double play.
-In the bottom of the second inning, the Eagles broke through with four runs on four hits. The inning was spotlighted by two-run homers off the bats of Chet Bowling and Gabe Natividad to give the Eagles a 6-0 advantage.
-For the third straight inning, Winthrop did significant damage scoring five runs on three hits. The Eagles capitalized on three hit-by-pitches with a timely RBI single from Chet Bowling and a three-run double off the bat of Koby Kropf to surge Winthrop ahead 11-0.
-With a commanding lead in hand, Winthrop stayed on the gas scoring three more runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth. The big blow came when Chazz Grossington belted a three-run homer to left field, extending the lead to 14-0.
-For the fifth straight frame, Winthrop plated a run capitalizing on a Queens error. With the bases loaded and one out, Cole Yearsley sent a sacrifice fly to left field to score the Eagles unearned run.
-Winthrop did the most damage in the bottom of the sixth inning plating 10 runs on five hits to increase their lead to 25-0. The Eagles capitalized on five free passes and a Queens error to score the second most runs in a single inning by a Royals opponent this season.
