Favreau Nets Five Goals at Elon

ELON, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte women's lacrosse team (5-11, 2-3) fell 18-9 at Elon (9-6, 5-2) this evening in a nonconference makeup game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Phoenix quickly got on the board with a goal at 14:35 in the first quarter, going on to score seven unanswered goals in the period. They then extended their lead to 11 with four straight goals in the second quarter before the Royals' Kayleen Favreau got Queens on the board with 3:01 to play in the opening half.  Another goal from Favreau at 1:24 gave the game an 11-2 score at the break.

Favreau opened the scoring in the third quarter, netting her third goal of the game at 13:47 to close the margin to eight, but Elon had an answer less than 40 seconds later. Queens responded with a 4-2 run to trail 14-7 heading into the final period.

Unfortunately for Queens, the early deficit proved to be too much to overcome in the fourth quarter as Elon put the game away, adding four more goals to the board while holding the Royals to just two before the final horn sounded.
