CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Queens University of Charlotte fell to Stetson University 6-2 in ASUN Conference action on Saturday afternoon at The Stick, despite a late-inning push from the Royals.
Stetson jumped out to an early lead with two runs in the first inning and never relinquished control, adding another run in the third before breaking the game open with a three-run sixth inning.
Queens managed to get on the board in the second inning when freshman Olivia Thornton blasted a solo home run to left center field, cutting the deficit to 2-1. The Royals added another run in the final frame when Natalie Windham delivered a clutch two-out RBI single to score Lauren Byrd, but it was too little too late.
Jordan Dunn started in the circle for Queens, pitching 5.1 innings before Abby Craver came on in relief to finish the game. The Royals' defense committed two errors that contributed to unearned runs for Stetson.

- Olivia Thornton provided Queens' first offensive spark with a solo home run in the second inning, her third round-tripper of the season.
- Lindsey DeRoeck led the Royals at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double.
- Lauren Byrd reached base twice with a hit and a walk while scoring in the seventh inning.
- Natalie Windham delivered the Royals' second RBI with a clutch two-out single in the final frame.
- Madyson Daughtry contributed defensively with three putouts and three assists at shortstop while also collecting a hit.

The Royals will look to bounce back facing Charleston Southern on the road in non conference play on Wednesday, April 2. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 3 PM.
