RESULTS
CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Queens University of Charlotte men's and women's track and field team completed the Charlotte 49er Classic this afternoon with a new school record in the shot put.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Freshman thrower Vesna Kljajevic had a great day setting a new school record in the shot put with a mark of 14.95 meters. She finished second in the event. Additionally, Kljajevic took 12th place in the javelin throw with a mark of 34.15 meters. The mark is 10th all-time at Queens.
- On the men's side, thrower Jakob Nutzel threw the top mark of the day in the discus throw. His mark of 54.61 meters ranks second all-time at Queens. Nutzel also holds the record at Queens in the event.
- Zsombor Takacs was fourth in the discus with a mark of 50.48 meters. He was also 11th in the shot put with a mark of 14.82 meters. Enrico Busato took 13th in the shot put with a mark of 14.74 meters.
- Freshman jumper Jada Brown finished fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.54 meters. Her jump is sixth all-time at Queens.
- On the track, Rowan Shannon raced to an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:16.48. Her time sits seventh all-time at Queens.
UP NEXT
The Royals will return to action on March 27-29 at the Raleigh Relays hosted by N.C. State.
