Petersen Records Hat Trick Against High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team moved to 2-6 on the year following an 18-7 loss on the road to High Point University.
  
HOW IT HAPPENED
Queens' Carter Petersen and Dylan Behnke teamed up on back-to-back goals early in the game to give the Royals a 2-0 lead. However, a 5-1 run by the Panthers would put High Point on top 5-3 heading into the second quarter.
 
The Panthers then scored four unanswered goals to increase their lead to six, 9-3, before Grant Isika found the back of the cage at 4:17. High Point responded with two more goals before the half to make the score 11-4 at the break.
 
Following halftime, High Point outscored Queens 6-1 again in the third quarter to secure their win over the Royals.
 
KEY STATS & NOTES 
  • Carter Petersen recorded his third hat trick of the season to lead Queens. Dylan Behnke totaled a career-high three assists and one goal.
  • Gunnar Bick recorded his first collegiate goal.
  • Nicky West totaled 10 saves in the loss for Queens.
  • Hayden Thompson and Michael White recorded two caused turnovers each for Queens' defense.
  • Justin Wixted recorded eight points on three goals and five assists for High Point. Carson Robins added three goals and two assists for five points, and Owen Bunten tallied three goals.
  • Queens was outshot 46-29, putting 15 shots on goal to High Point's 28 shots on goal.
  • The Panthers recorded 41 ground balls to Queens' 26 ground balls. High Point also won 17 of the 28 face offs.
