THE SHORT STORY
Queens University came out firing on all cylinders in the first half but was unable to hold off West Georgia, ultimately falling 56-49 at Curry Arena on Saturday afternoon. Following a pivotal ASUN women's basketball matchup, the Royals dropped to 8-15 overall and 2-10 in conference play, while the Wolves improved to 9-14 on the season and 3-9 in ASUN competition.

Jordyn Weaver made a strong return to the lineup after missing the last two games, leading Queens with 17 points. Weaver showed no signs of rust, scoring efficiently inside the paint and getting to the free-throw line frequently, where she converted 7-10 attempts.

Aylesha Wade had a well-rounded performance, finishing with 10 points, five rebounds, and a team-high five assists.

NOTABLE MOMENTS
The Royals opened the game with a hot shooting performance, connecting on 50% of their field goal attempts in the first quarter, including a 66.7% clip from beyond the arc. By halftime, the Royals had built a 30-24 advantage, thanks to a 9-0 scoring run in the second quarter that gave them a 10-point lead at one point.
The Royals struggled to maintain their offensive momentum in the second half. Â Despite the shooting slump, the defense kept Queens within striking distance, forcing 22 West Georgia turnovers and recording six steals.
West Georgia mounted a late surge with a 7-0 run midway through the fourth quarter and took the lead for good. The Wolves outscored the Royals 17-9 in the final frame to seal the victory.

Jordyn Weaver has now scored double figures for the 20th time this season.
- The Royals are just one victory away from setting a new record for the most wins in their Division I era, surpassing the mark set in the 2022-23 season. They are also one win shy of matching their highest conference win total since joining the ASUN.
