CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Queens University of Charlotte men's lacrosse team fell 12-6 to the Stony Brook University Seawolves (2-1) this afternoon at Dickson Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Leading 3-1 at the end of the first, the Seawolves ballooned their advantage to six, 9-3, by the half after outscoring the Royals 6-2 in the second quarter.
Queens was able to hold the Seawolves scoreless in the third quarter while also closing the gap to four, 9-5. However, Stony Brook added three points to the board in the fourth compared to the Royals' one to secure the win.
KEY STATS & NOTES
- Jack Royer led the Royals with four goals and one assist while Carter Petersen added two goals.
- In goal, Dylan Axman recorded four saves in 30 minutes of play. Nicky West completed the game and totaled seven saves.
- Caleb Yeung led the Seawolves with three goals while both Collin Williamson and Richie Dechiaro scored two goals.
- Jamison MacLachlan totaled 13 saves in goal for Stony Brook.
- Queens was outshot 50-37, putting 19 shots on goal compared to Stony Brook's 23 shots on goal.
- Stony Brook won the battle at the face, 12-9, and totaled 29 ground balls to Queens' 28.
