THE SHORT STORY
The Queens University women's basketball team (8-17, 2-12 ASUN) put up a strong second-half fight, but an early deficit proved too much to overcome in an 86-72 loss to Lipscomb (16-9, 9-5 ASUN) on Saturday afternoon.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Freshman guard
Kamara Mills had a breakout game, recording a career-high 17 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, securing her first career double-double. Mills shot 7-of-15 from the field.

Jordyn Weaver also had a strong performance with 15 points and 11 rebounds, notching a double-double of her own.

Jermany Mapp contributed 11 points, knocking down three three-pointers.

Ana Barreto led the Royals with three steals, while
Kemia Ward and
Aylesha Wade each finished with two take aways a piece.
- The Royals controlled the rebounding battle, pulling down 46 total boards compared to Lipscomb's 28.
NOTABLE MOMENTS
The Royals struggled out of the gate, trailing 29-10 after the first quarter as Lipscomb capitalized on a hot shooting start, knocking down seven three-pointers in the opening period.
Queens found its rhythm in the second half, outscoring Lipscomb 48-37 over the final 20 minutes, including a 14-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter to trim the deficit. However, the Bisons' efficiency from beyond the arc finishing 18-of-32 from deep ultimately sealed the Royals fate.

Queens will look to bounce back in their next ASUN matchup as they remain on the road to take on Austin Peay on Thursday, Feb. 20. The Royals claimed victory in their first matchup against Austin Peay earlier this month, securing a 52-43 win. They will look to complete the season sweep when they face the Governors again, with tip-off set for 7 p.m. in Clarksville, Tenn.
